Facial Mud Mask with Dead Sea Minerals

Hello guys! I want to share with you my thoughts on this facial mud mask. I’m a mask addicted and I have tried a lot of them, but I don’t remember having tried any facial mask with Dead Sea Minerals. Since I’ve bought a skin exfoliator made with dead sea minerals last month, I have been a little obsessed with this powerful ingredient.

But what is Dead Sea Minerals??

The Dead Sea contains 26 essential minerals in which twelve of them do not exist in any other sea or ocean in the world. Some are known to have unique qualities, like giving a feeling of relaxation, nourishing the skin, activating the blood systems, healing rheumatic diseases and metabolic disorders. In addition, the natural minerals are essential for correct functioning of the human body and the different skin layers.

Here are some of the unique benefits provide by some of the essential minerals:

Magnesium – This well-known therapeutic mineral helps promote regeneration of skin tissue and cells, acting as an anti-allergenic agent on the skin. It also improves cell metabolism, stimulates protein synthesis and facilitates energy production.

Bromine – Soothes your skin with anti-inflammatory properties, calming and relaxing muscles and skin nerves.

Iodine – Improves functioning of the thyroid gland and helps the skin cells’ metabolic exchanges.

Sulfur – Is a known therapeutic mineral. Contains certain essential vitamins and is a natural disinfectant and anti-bacterial agent, making it effective against acne. Has also been effective to help relieve symptoms of skin disorders such as Psoriasis and Eczema.

Potassium – Is a key moisture regulator and helps preserve a neutral skin environment.

Calcium – Is the building block for corrective tissue under the skin’s surface. It plays an important role in cell protection, regulating the cell membrane permeability (absorption and oil production) and normalizing skin cells’ differentiation.

Sodium – Improves the skin cells metabolism, relieves muscle cramps and stiffness while maintaining a neutral environment within skin cells.

Zinc – This mineral is important for natural regulation of cell growth and regeneration. Also facilitates cell renewal and stimulates collagen and elastin synthesis (renewing skin). It also improves sebo-regulation (anti-acne properties), anti-inflammatory properties and is a natural UV rays blocker.

Strontium – Has effective anti-itching properties, reduces the signs of irritant contact dermatitis which is a common problem for those with sensitive skin who regularly use cosmetics.

Manganese – It is well known for powerful anti-oxidant properties. It also increases skin micro-circulation (which promotes better anti-aging effects) and improves the condition of connective tissues.

Lithium – It increases the effectiveness of bath salt treatment for psoriasis.

Boron – It helps to relieve the symptoms of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.

Now you understand the reason why I’m love these Dead Sea Minerals so deeply! We all know now the benefits of this wonder, so let’s get to the mud mask:

This is the facial mud mask I bought a few weeks ago and I’ve been using it 2 times a week and this is my second week. It has a nice pleasant smell and a thick grey texture and it is very easy to spread.

I took the picture when the mud mask was dry, it took about 10 minutes. Then I rinsed off with warm water like they tell in the directions.

The results:
After I rinsed off the mask and dried my face, I instantly felt my skin very smooth and with that super clean feel. It has been 2 days now since I did the mask and my skin is still soft. I’m very pleased with the results and stay tuned because I’ll be posting a lot of reviews with products containing Dead Sea Minerals!

Just to let you know, Dead Sea Minerals are also known as “Maris Sal”. So is you see this on a label, you know what it means 🙂

  1. I only tried the mask from Proactive. Although I like how it feels after you applied and washed it, but the smell of sulfur is really awful. Good thing that this product you are using has a nice pleasant smell.

  2. I never used Proactive before.. I’m afraid of all the chemicals in it.. A nice and pleasant smell is always very nice in a product you are using in your face =)
