COOK WITH ME – COCONUT HEAVEN

I’m so excited! This is my first recipe here on the blog. I want to share with you something very yummy, a special and traditional cold cake I use to eat back home. It was popular on birthdays instead of the usual birthday cake and also popular during afternoon tea time.

The steps are quick and easy but there is time in between the steps, so make sure you will have time before starting it. I promise it is all worth it, because it is so good it tastes like heaven ♡

The first step is to bake a white cake. You can make one from scratch or make a pre-mixed one. For this recipe, a pre-mixed one is fine.

bolo1
After the cake is done, leave it to cool down completely.

Meanwhile, you can start preparing the second step:

bolo2
In a bowl you will mix:
✦ 1/2 cup of milk (you can use any milk)
✦ I can of sweetened condensed milk
✦ 3 tablespoons of caned coconut milk
✦ 3 tablespoons of unsweetened shred coconut

After the cake has cooled down completely, you will create little roles throughout the entire cake:

….and pour on the mix you just created a while ago on top of the cake:

Time to wait again…This time, you will keep the cake in the fridge for about 2-3 hours to allow the cake to cool down even more.

➼ Now that the cake is ready to be cut, let’s cut rectangular pieces and sprinkle some shred coconut on top of it: (please don’t mind my uneven pieces =D)

Next and final step: Place each piece of cake on a thin foil piece and fold it

… and voilà! You can serve immediately or later! It will last in the fridge for up to 4 days.

Enjoy it! xoxo
